Is Aspire a model agency?



We're not a model agency. A model agency represents models to prospective clients. Aspire provides services to clients, which may include finding and managing suitable talent for a given project. Agencies usually only have signed models, while Aspire works with both freelancers and signed models through their agencies.

I'm new, can you help get me experience?



Absolutely! Aspire has a newly created modelling training program that aims to help all models, regardless of experience, secure ongoing paid modelling opportunities. Please get in touch with us directly to discuss further.In addition to our modelling program, we can help you plan your own shoot or find a photographer willing to work with you.

Can you get me work as a model?



We're always on the lookout for talent that can provide value to our clients. The amount of work we can offer depends on the versatility of your look, your experience, and your flexibility with the type of work you're willing to undertake.

Can you guarantee that I'll be successful with you?



No one can make that kind of guarantee. The amount of work you book depends on various factors that are outside our control.

What type of work is available?



A model's work can be divided into two groups.

Photographic work involves capturing images or video.

Non-photographic work includes runway modelling, fit modelling, promotional modelling, hosting events, or atmosphere/luxury experience modelling, where the primary goal isn't to be photographed.

What fees do you charge?



Modelling agencies have many fees they charge for each model they represent. As Aspire doesn't represent models exclusively, we don't charge these fees. Upon successful completion of a job, Aspire takes a commission. We get paid when you get paid.

Our commission ranges from 10-20%, which is industry standard.

Do I have to sign a contract?



Yes and no.

You will need to sign an agreement listing all our Terms and Conditions, which apply to all jobs offered. You will also be asked to sign a job-specific agreement outlining conditions linked to that particular job.

You won't have to sign a contract restricting your ability to work with others.

Can I talk directly to the client?



No. You will have an agreement directly with Aspire, not the client. Clients seek our services so they don't have to spend their time directly talking to potential talent.

What is talent?



Talent refers to individuals whose creative work directly contributes to the artistic aspects of production. This could include actors, musicians, models, dancers, stunt performers, or voice actors.

What is a signed model?



A signed model is a model who has entered into a professional contract with an agency to represent them. These contracts often restrict a model's opportunities for work, as all jobs typically have to go through their agency.

Furthermore, contracts can limit a model's freedom to change their look; for example, a model may need agency approval to change their hairstyle. Aspire does not sign models in this capacity.

I am currently with an agency. Can I still work with Aspire?



Yes, you can still work with Aspire, but please note that you will need to provide written permission from your agency allowing you to undertake the job.

What is a freelance model?



A freelance model is an individual who operates their own modelling business independently. As a freelance model, you can set your own rates, freely change your look, and accept work as it suits your lifestyle. In addition, freelance models are responsible for managing their own bookings, self-promotion, invoicing clients, and all other business-related activities.

How much will I get paid?



Compensation is determined by multiple factors and on a per-job basis.

How many photos will I get?



The exact details of the compensation you will receive will be listed in the offer presented to you. If you prefer receiving photos instead of payment, please communicate that before signing any offer.

I've been given an offer. How do I accept?



To accept an offer, it's crucial that you thoroughly read and understand it. If you're uncertain about what's expected of you, as a freelancer, it's your responsibility to seek clarification. The instructions for accepting an offer should be included in the offer itself. Read everything carefully and follow the directions provided..

My offer lists a booking fee. What is this?



For a production to proceed, there are various upfront costs such as studio rental fees, gear rental fees, or hiring other crew members. If you fail to show up for the production, thousands of dollars may be wasted on expenses for which others still need to be paid.The booking fee is designed to ensure your commitment to showing up for the production and fulfilling the terms outlined in your offer. If you successfully complete the production, this booking fee will be returned to you along with your compensation. However, if you do not attend, the fee will be retained by Aspire to cover our organizational costs.

I never had to pay my previous agency a booking fee. Why?



If you were previously with an agency, you would have had a contract authorizing your agent to deduct fees from future jobs. Aspire does not enter into such contracts with freelancers, and therefore, cannot guarantee future work from which fees can be deducted.

How do I get paid?



Like any business, after completing a job, you need to issue Aspire an invoice for the services rendered. It's important to include your trading name, ABN, and bank details so that the invoice can be processed correctly.

Once a job is complete, Aspire will invoice the client. After the client pays the invoice, we will deduct our commission and then pay you. Please note that client payments can take up to 90 days from the date of invoice.

Do you offer any kind of insurance for talent?



Insurance is the sole responsibility of the talent. We do not provide any types of insurance policies.



Aspire's modelling training program aims to help models of all experience levels gain ongoing paid modelling opportunities. It's a bespoke training program tailored to cater to each individual's goals. Upon successful completion of the training program, Aspire guarantees paid work.

How does Aspire's training program differ from other courses?



Firstly, other modelling courses in Perth focus on providing images and building confidence in front of the camera without teaching the essential skills needed to secure paid modelling jobs.

Secondly, other courses are conducted in a group setting and tend to be generic. Aspire's course is tailored to your specific goals, ensuring that you receive instruction only on what is necessary for your individual needs.

Model Management

How else can Aspire help me?



Aspire also offers model management services, which differ from what a model agency typically provides. Model management services include helping you understand contracts, negotiating your fee, and issuing and following up invoices on your behalf.
